Shield AI had an awesome booth at SOF with the V-Bat and X-Bat (45% scale model) in attendance The X bat is going to be revolutionary Think of F-16 but flying autonomously, no run way needed, 1/3 of the price with a payload capacity similar to an F-35 https://t.co/5gbV1cwoLN

🇺🇸🇺🇦 BIG | The American company Shield AI has revealed new details about its activities in Ukraine, where its autonomous UAVs V-BAT are undergoing testing in real combat conditions. According to the company's CEO and a former Royal Marines officer of the United Kingdom, since June 2024 the company has delivered the first batch of these vertical takeoff and landing UAVs to Ukrainian units, and has also sent its own engineers for field support. The devices have proven effective under intense electronic warfare conditions: despite GPS interruptions and communication jamming, the V-BATs successfully carried out reconnaissance and target designation tasks. In one recorded episode, a drone helped identify a Buk-M1 SAM system, after which the target was destroyed by a HIMARS strike. Shield AI reports that it actively cooperates with the Ukrainian military, having already trained more than five units, and also adjusts the platform itself according to Ukrainian requests. In addition to support on the front lines, Shield AI is developing infrastructure in Ukraine, providing financial assistance, implementing programs for veterans and facilitating the reintegration of former military personnel through technological projects. The company calls Ukraine a proving ground for the development of the next generation of AI-oriented systems capable of operating independently in environments saturated with air defense and electronic warfare means. The success of the project in Ukraine confirms the trend towards close integration of American autonomous solutions with partner armies, not just in the form of deliveries, but through joint development and application.
